Short Courses

Nursing Assistant/Caregiver

This course prepares the student to provide basic patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse. This program provides instruction utilizing a holistic approach to provide basic care to people in a variety of health care settings. Students will understand how health care systems operate and will learn the skills necessary to function safely and efficiently in a health care setting. This program provides instruction both in the classroom and clinical setting. Clinical instruction is provided at long term care/rehab facilities and assisted living facilities. Instruction includes topics related to the Nursing Assistant (NA) scope of practice, basic patient care needs, infection control, basic medical terminology, nutrition, comfort, safety measures, first aid, CPR, vital signs, basic anatomy/physiology, record keeping, communication skills, interpersonal relationships, and employability


Caregiver training course will give you an understanding of the basics of caregiving, including legal and ethical responsibilities and working as part of a team. Caregivers are highly valued and in-demand professionals who make a big difference to the health organizations they work for. This course will give you a full run-through of these essential concepts so that you can give your caregiving career a real boost today.

Pharmacy Assistant

This course will teach you the fundamentals of becoming a pharmacy assistant or technician.

This course will provide you with the necessary knowledge and training to work as a pharmacy assistant or technician. We'll teach you about the responsibilities of a pharmacy assistant, such as handling prescriptions, stock and inventory management and other pharmacy technician duties such as operating safe medications optimisation systems. Learn about pharmacy standard operating procedures and risk assessment methods.

Medical Office Administration

The medical office is a diverse environment that requires essential skills in the daily office administration including scheduling appointments, patient reception and processing, record management, accounting, healthcare billing, reports and requisitioning, medical transcription and medical office terminology as well as key interpersonal communication skills when working with patients and team members.

In this course you will learn how to perform a variety of administrative duties in doctor’s offices, hospitals, wellness clinics and other medical settings.

Innovative Vocational Short Courses

Upholstery Fundamentals

Upholstery is the work of providing furniture, especially seats, with padding, springs, webbing, and fabric or leather covers. The purpose of this qualification is to develop the student’s upholstery and woodworking skills, and thereby to enable him/her to enter into a career in furniture production. All projects are industry-based and students are given the opportunity to job shadow and to do in-service training.

Carpentry and Joinery

This course teaches you how to build beautiful structures that can last for centuries. Carpenters have one of the highest rates of job satisfaction in the construction industry for those who like to work with their hands. The trade offers numerous career opportunities, from constructing forms to creating fine cabinetry. 

Advanced Courses

Enrolled Nursing and Midwifery Science

General Nursing and Midwifery or GNM is a two-year diploma course designed for aspirants who want to pursue a career in clinical nursing. The programme teaches candidates how to care for individuals who are sick or have been injured in order to help them attain full recovery.

SHORT COURSES

The NQA does not accredit short courses because there is no level of qualification (NQF) for short courses.
We are offering short courses for students to get profound knowledge, gain skills, boost secondary results to those who are drop outs or did not do well and want to further their studies into the main career and enhance chances of employment.

The National certificate and diploma in Occupational health and safety and Counseling shall be regulated by the NTA, while Enrolled Nursing and Midwifery Science shall be regulated by Nursing Council and the process is in progress.
